Istituto Europeo Studi Tecnologie Avanzate - società cooperativa - is the leader of a research project aimed at the identification of best practices for the transfer of relational skills with regard to the area 5, entitled: New approaches for the management of competences related to rules learning. The staff working on the project is made up of highly qualified professionals and specialists including university professors. The objective of this one year project is to test an innovative implementation model on rules learning. The model should focus on communication and relational skills needed to manage groups of students that can favour social and civic empowerment of the students.
The rules learning issue will be developed through a socio-cognitive perspective giving special attention to the development of social and civic skills and the way judging and moral reasoning can be increased. The project includes pilot activities aiming at the definition and implementation of a new action model that makes the trainer/teacher the key player in transferring values and rules that contribute to individual, social and civic well-being.
In particular, teachers will be asked to self-reflect on their own professional competences and encouraged to strengthen their communication-relational skills when conducting classes. Teachers will be provided with operational tools needed to raise students’ awareness on the project issues. Teachers will be equipped with NLP tools and methodologies that can help implement activities of rules learning. The effectiveness of the model will be tested through a detailed quali-quantitative analysis of the elements and the variables. The analysis will be carried out following specific criteria able to guarantee a high level of transferability. Teachers and students will be directly involved in the project activities. Teachers will be asked to fill in questionnaires and have them filled in by their students so that a control group is set up. The selected teachers will participate to Training and Research Lab sessions lasting 1 and ½ days. Afterwards the teachers will conduct the classes carrying out the activities they have been trained on. Several one hour sessions are planned. Evaluation activities will be carried out through the usage of questionnaires and forms with the aim of monitoring the impact and the evaluating the results of the training provided to teachers.
